A faction is a group of allies, either racial or ideological. Most in-game factions are described in Miner Wars lore, but some are specifically introduced in the Miner Wars MMO. The use of factions in other Miner Wars games and media is a pivotal role of the story.
Most factions in the Miner Wars MMO will be available for the player to join, however in Miner Wars 2081, the franchise's first instalation, the player belongs to the People's Union.
